Questions about Blu-Ray Dual-Layer discs?
I searched the net, and really could not find direct answers, so I will try here. I know that dual-layer Blu-Ray discs are 50 gb. Is this currently the largest capacity blank discs available on the market? I was able to find a reasonably priced drive that can play and burn pretty much every disc that I am aware of. I am used to being able to put one to two movies on a regular dvd. I know that Blu-Ray movies are much larger, but can I put "regular-sized" movies on a Blu-Ray Disc (the 25 gb, single-layer, as I don't think dual can play movies) and play like 5-10 movies on one disc? My other question is, can the 50 gb discs by used for data storage like the regular dvds and dvd-dl? Thanks for the help!
To answer your questions simply: yes to all.
You can put multiple DVD quality movies on a Blu-ray disc as well as regular data. However, the device you are trying to access would need at least a Blu-Ray Rom Drive. So if you do put a Blu-Ray disc with regular DVD content in a DVD player, it would not read. But if you put it into a Blu-Ray Player, there should be no problem.
