What can you use a blu-ray read/write drive for?
What are some things you can do with a read and write Blu-Ray Drive? Can you just put a bunch of stuff on one disc? What are some good ways of putting the writing drive to use?
When it comes to data storage for backups, etc... Blu-Ray will give you a lot more space than DVD. On a single-sided Blu-Ray Disc you can store 25-GB of data on dual layer you can hold 50-GB of data. (DVD is recordable media by comparison is 4.7-GB for single layer and 8.5 for dual layer).
Assuming you have an HD camcorder you can create HD home movies (NOTE: You can also create HD home movies for Blu-Player playback with a DVD burner using the AVCHD standard), According to the Blu-Ray FAQ: You can store 9 hours of HD video or 23 hours of standard definition video on a Blu-Ray disc.
