brilliant TV with defects
Let me tell you first that I personally UN55C8000 bought two weeks ago.
The films I have tried on the TV were:
Nemo (DVD format, 2D-mode)
Legion (DVD format, 2D-mode)
Aliens vs. Monsters (3D mode)
Avatar (Blu-Ray format, 2D and reconstructed 3D mode)
I changed the game on the TV format to "Dynamic" mode before the game avatar. I swear the colors I saw in Cinemark theater not as good as the half you to see on this TV. Magnificent! Awesome!
I also tried to watch the same movie in 3D mode. The depth of the upconverted 3D mode was only partly good, as compared the actual 3D movie you would see with 3D glasses. The TV loses a star because of this.
Another star was lost because of the poor double-edge (Crosstalk of the images) of some of the scenes in the film (Aliens vs Monster) when you see it in 3D mode. People say it happens sometimes, some people said "It is rare. "Let me tell you that it happens almost every time when the background is dark in the image and the object is bright and glowing in them. For example: The planets in the sky before it breaks or the calendar behind the guy, with a Ping-Pong ball or the interior of the church. 90% of the film is bright, so we do not see Double-edging 90% of the time.
God forbid if we get "Lord of the Rings" in 3D format sometime in the future, you will see double-edge (or Crosstalk) 60% of the time, as have the film a very dark scenes in it. I spoke with Samsung and the guy advised me to update the latest version to the TV, I did not installed, but it does not have to fix the problem.
And if I have the maximum dollars ($ 3,000) spent on this technology, I do not want with the quality IT compromise.
I also played Nemo in 2D mode and the under-the-Sea dark scenes had clouded edges around the objects in it (like Dory and Nemo's Dad).
One more thing: I tried to play the Blu-ray movie from my laptop and connected my laptop to the TV receiver Denon. The film on TV looked normal from the consideration that on the laptop is extremely sharp and clear. And I know it's not the Denon receiver. In any case, did this does not bother me as much as crosstalk problems when playing 3D content.
TV in 3D mode loses color when you take two steps to the right or left. So, you are asked to remain seated in Love Seat. When you sit on a chair next to you or to any other bed on the page, you will not see half of the colors. But that is unlikely. "Viewing Angle" is usually in small LCDs compared to plasma. However, 2D-mode has a greater angle than 3D. But then you do not have to dance around if you just 3D movies.
Other than this, is the aesthetics awesome!
Frankly, unless Samsung offers a solution to eliminate crosstalk / double-edge complete , this TV does not deserve more than 3 stars.

So far, so good - no, Great!
If you're like me, you read several posts to get a feel for the product. My two cents are those like me who on the fence for about two months and help were finally decided to pull the trigger. My first thing to do, to tell you what I upgraded from a Panasonic 55 "HDTV Rear Projection (No HDMI ports) with a Panasonic DVD Player Progressive Scan. My first impressions after a week watching TV, Blu-Ray Dvd and 3D is - WOW! I bought this Television, the 3D-blue ray player, the Starter Kit (my purchase included free), a wireless adapter for the TV and two HDMI cables. Purchased through Amazon instead of all a retail outlet for (a) a better price from about $ 350 BB, and (b) to save the sales tax of over $ 200, a new entertainment shelf / bracket unit to obtain. The first thing to me is on my mind, if this setup Get the HDMI cable, because none are included with the TV or Blue Ray player will receive. I am also glad that I have the wireless adapter because it is much cleaner and easier to access the Internet contents. The 3D content is what we all pay, so I'll start with that. First, I am glad that DirecTV four channels includes free 3D, and the system detects the TV is capable of running 3D map so that it channels if you do to your guide add. Secondly, I find myself with the 3D effect for regular programming HD displays to give more depth and dimension. True 3D content is thin right now, but I'm always much pleasure to watch Lord Of The Rings (my standard DVD versions) expands in 3D with the upconverter on the TV screen. True 3D content from the screen, and upconverted Television programs and non-blue ray movies a sense of depth and background dimension. Regular HD picture is beautiful. The Blue Ray picture is incredible. As far as the Internet apps Netflix to stream movies and I use Pandora for music. Netflix The picture was not impressive, but I had to upgrade my internet speed to a better image quality (Not the TV's fault). I wanted to come with these products concerned, however, had no problems. The TV was delivered by a local shipper and was checked for damage and was before she left driven. All programmed easily (no Geek Squad) and the necessary settings optimized, my personal preference in the coming days. All works fine thusfar. The bottom line for me is when 3D is the next frontier of in-home entertainment, I am ready, and if 3D is not pan out, I still have a HD-TV with Internet applications, nice picture and sound and awesome blue ray considered, with the added advantage of giving a 3D look-at any film or program. My Proposal is to read the correct setting and the optimal viewing distance, it will help you have a better experience.

It's OK
The good: Best black levels than other edge-lit sets, brilliant colors, with gray-scale linear, inspections and photographs Many changes, elegant style with deep rock inches; Amazing flow and content via the widget well-integrated application platform compatible 3D, 2D, 3D conversion system works better than expected. The bad: Extremely expensive, the thinking of the homogeneity and not viewing angle, light fade as the black levels to the full range of local, while The blue shades of black, not properly handled 1080p/24 content, 3D images are phantom exposed edges (cross talk) does not include 3D glasses terrible remote control. The Bottom Line: 3D is still a work in progress and 2D image quality is far the best available, but the high end of the series features Samsung UNC8000 Additional features wonderfully strong performances and unique style.
